Day-by-Day Route Breakdown

Day 1: Port d'Andratx → Banyalbufar

38.6 km · 1,567m↑ · 1,447m↓ ·

A big opening day from the harbour at Port d'Andratx through pine forests and along the stunning cliffside coast past La Trapa monastery. After reaching Ses Fontanelles, the route tackles the climb towards Mola de s'Esclop before descending through Estellencs and continuing along ancient paths through Mediterranean forest to Banyalbufar.

Day 2: Banyalbufar → Deià

Following the historic Postman's Path to Esporles, then climbing through holm oak forest to Valldemossa. The afternoon crosses Puig Gros (938m) and Es Caragolí (944m) with spectacular 360-degree panoramas before the long descent on ancient stone steps to the charming village of Deià.

Day 3: Deià → Refugi Tossals Verds

Descending through ancient olive groves to the coast, then following the seafront to Port de Sóller and on through citrus orchards to Sóller. The afternoon tackles the Barranc de Biniaraix — over 2,000 ancient stone steps — before continuing through the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana to the mountain refuge.

Day 4: Refugi Tossals Verds → Port de Pollença

The final push climbs to Coll des Prat (1,200m) — the highest point of the GR221 — before descending to Lluc Monastery. From Lluc, the trail crosses pine forest to Pollença and its Roman-era bridge, then follows the final stretch to Port de Pollença and the Mediterranean seafront — a fitting conclusion to the journey.
